As this week between Christmas and New Years is upon us, the gift wrap has all been cleaned up, and the planners and resolutions are coming out for the new year, I want to encourage you to try something different.
Over the next few days, I am going to post my process in preparing for the new year and the power of doing so in a holistic way. I hope you find time to take these steps and help create the 2026 you desire!

When one year ends and another is about to begin, I take time to reflect. I look back over my past year's goals; I see where I accomplished my desires and where I may have lacked. I reminisce about my year - considering the beautiful moments as well as the hard ones, deciphering where things may have aligned, and where things may have fallen apart and contemplating prayerfully the ins and outs of my successes and perceived failures.
It can be helpful to write these down.
Sketch them out.
Put in dates, highs, lows, and emotions that were stimulated with each one.
List griefs you experienced and joys you participated in.
We cannot move toward where we want to be without first realizing where we have been!
Some good questions to consider:
* What was I successful at this year?
* What goals did I fail to meet?
* What blessings did I receive?
* What griefs did I endure?
* What relationships brought the most stability?
* What relationships were most challenging?
* Where did I most find joy in my life?
Before you can move forward with new goals and dreams, you must first discover where you have come from and where you are.
So creates some space this week, even if it is just a few minutes once the kids are in bed, and
REFLECT!
