Diary of a Birth Storm

Diary of a Birth Storm:

Sometimes mamas all know when the time is right and you get more than one birth in a short amount of time. This is what we call a "birth storm."

Day 1 - 7pm, client #1 calls. She is being admitted for induction for medical reasons.

Day 2 - 3am, client #1 calls for doula support

          - 8am, client #2 calls thinking she is in early labor with irregular contractions

          - 10am, client #1 is 5cm

          - 1pm, client #3 is being admitted at 4cm

          - 4pm, client #1 gets an epidural

          - 6pm, client #1 is complete and begins pushing

          - 6:38pm, client #1 delivers a healthy baby girl

          - 7:50pm, client #3 calls for doula support

Day 3 - 6am, client #3 is complete and pushing

           - 10:45am, client #3 delivers a healthy baby girl

           - 4pm, client #2's water broke

           - 5:15pm, client #2 calls for doula support

           - 10:48pm, client #3 delivers a healthy baby girl

           - 11pm, client #4 calls in a regular contraction pattern and is laboring well at home

Day 4 - 3am, client #4 calls for doula support

            - 5am, client #5 is admitted in labor at 4cm, calls for doula support

            - 12:40pm, client #4 is complete, client #5 is 7cm

            - 12:50pm, client #4 delivers a healthy baby girl

            - 7:22pm, client #5 delivers a healthy baby boy

That's 5 mamas, 5 babies, 4 girls, 1 boy, 5 births in 50 hours, 63 hours of continuous doula support.

This is teamwork. This is dreamwork. This is birth work! www.birthdoualsofmichiana.com
